Brian’s success is not surprising. Real estate is in his blood. His grandmother was among the first women Realtors in the state of Florida. Today, his uncle owns and operates the firm that his grandmother started all those years ago. “My dad practiced real estate law early in his career. He also owned and sold many properties through the years – both by himself and with his brothers,” he says. “It’s definitely a big part of the family legacy.”
A Seamless Process
Brian has an experienced, devoted team that is committed to making the process of buying and selling real estate smooth and seamless for customers. His Executive Assistant acts as the customer liaison and is Brian’s “right hand” person. The team also includes a Listing Coordinator who manages the marketing of properties until they are under contract. The Closing Coordinator is a licensed sales associate who assists with writing contracts and making sure everything goes smoothly until the customer receives their final check. The Buyers’ Specialists work closely with customers assisting them with the purchasing process.
His closest team member, though, is his wife, Bonnie. Bonnie is also a licensed Realtor who joined forces with Brian in 2005 to help manage and grow their thriving business. She negotiates contracts, troubleshoots and takes care of the needs of the team.
“Our team is like a well-oiled machine. We take tremendous pride in our superior communication and customer service,” says Brian. “Someone is always available to answer questions and provide guidance at every step of the process.”

Brian belongs to the industry’s most powerful real estate coaching program in the country, which only the top one percent of Realtors belong to nationally. Despite a challenging economy, he says this training, combined with his team’s commitment to staying on top of changes in the market, enables them to consistently deliver superior results for their customers.
“Our training keeps us advised on what’s coming next and how we can prepare for it,” he explains. “We also stay on top of the latest proven marketing techniques and strategies and check market statistics on a daily basis to keep our finger on the pulse.”
Committed to the Community
Over the past 17 years, Brian and his team have helped more than 2,200 families buy and sell property in this area. He has deep ties to this community and enjoys being able to serve the people who live here.
Brian and Bonnie Helgemo live in Punta Gorda with their two boys. His entire family also lives in Charlotte County, including his parents and brothers Dr. Stephen Helgemo, a hand specialist, and Dr. Ben Helgemo, a pediatrician.
